Based in the Midwest, Psyche (she/they) got their start in the burlesque scene in 2022. As an up and coming artist in the Detroit and greater Michigan area, Psyche aims to cultivate experiences that excite all of the audiences' senses through powerful movement, strong emoting, costuming, musicality, and overall performance. Audiences have described them as "delicious,"

"a powerful presence," and "incredibly captivating." 

 

 Psyche doesn't just act the part--she becomes the part, fully embracing and embodying the Spirit and essence of the act, then catapulting the audience onto a journey where they will descend together into the depths of the unknown corners of the mind. With only a year in, Psyche continues to develop their repertoire to create more dynamic and enchanting performances that immerse audiences into a new experience of pleasure every time they take the stage. As far as burlesque goes, from neo to classic, fantastical to political, and beyond, Psyche aims to leave no trail untouched.

Beyond burlesque, Psyche's biggest interest lies in creating ritual performance art that honors the Spirit & the Soul; the physical self and the stories of our ancestors, and desires to dive into the psychology of how humans have grown to understand universal energies through the lens of performance. By drawing inspiration from ancestral practices such as rituals, storytelling, dance, and mythology from cultures around the world, Psyche De Lick seeks to bring awareness to the who, what, why, and how of our humanness. Her storytelling abilities seamlessly blend our own cultural modernity and adds twists and tastes of an older, more ancient world that lives deep within our collective consciousness. Tapping into all 5 senses and beyond, Psyche's performances encourage a deeper way of thinking, showcasing the spectrum of pleasure, what is means to be a human vessel in embodied ways, and illuminate what lay just beneath our own surfaces.
